Who is this for?
I'm not sure what is
even on my film.
I will do color correction and
editing if needed.
I want high quality DVDs
and Blu-rays, and I would
like my digital files as a
back-up.
I want to edit my movies and
create still pictures from
them. I want high quality
images suited for long-term
archiving and
for viewing on my
large screen HDTV.
I want my film to look
as close to the day
it was shot or better,
if possible.
(Highly recommended
for broadcasters,
documentarians,
large displays, museums
and digital projection.)

Transferring film is a race against time.
In the past five years, our company has noticed a sharp increase in film with faded
color, chemical breakdown, and physical deterioration. It's not that these films were
poorly shot. Quite the opposite. It's that the rate of film deterioration has increased,
especially on the decades old films that we so often transfer. That's why, if you're
reading the chart above and thinking about transferring film, the time to get started
really is now.

All movie film - even professional film stock - has a limited shelf-life, and the best way
to preserve it is by transferring it to digital. Once your film is converted to a digital
format, it is essentially frozen in time in a high quality format. Its visual quality won't
deteriorate with fading color. It won't lose focus through warping. And its images
won't be eaten away by mold, cracking emulsion, or vinegar syndrome.

This is why we put all of our efforts into creating the highest quality digital film
transfers that we can, and why we want to make those transfers accessible to as
many people as possible. Our goal is to digitally preserve your film with the qualities
of how it was originally shot. But our efforts will be negated if the film has deteriorated
past the point of transfer.

So whether your film represents your life's work or your family's history, it is critical to
transfer it to digital as soon as possible. Putting off your project for even a single year
can dramatically change the quality of the film and thus the quality of your digital transfer.
